A project to experience the museum in a new way

MuseumInteract was established to enhance the cultural, natural and ethnographic heritage of the Sanagra Valley by offering all visitors An immersive, accessible and personalized experience.

The focus of the initiative is. the interactive app "PlayMuseum - Adventure in the Sanagra Valley“, designed for a young and scholastic audience, but engaging for all ages. Through a narrative set in the early 1900s, visitors are guided by characters inspired by local history and traditions on an adventure through the museum collections, discovering interesting facts about the flora, fauna, fossils, history and culture of the area in an active and fun learning mode.

In parallel, a new integrated website for the Sanagra Valley Museum, Ecomuseum and Park, designed to explore local heritage through digital content: articles, images, videos, thematic trails and a online database For the enjoyment and cataloging of museum heritage.

Goals and vision

MuseumInteract - Val Sanagra was born with the ambition to profoundly renew the way cultural heritage is told, experienced and shared. It is not just a matter of modernizing the tools, but of rethinking the entire approach to visiting: no longer a linear and static path, but a personalized and engaging experience that begins before entering the museum and can continue afterwards.

Through the use of intuitive and accessible technologies, we aim to Putting the person and his or her experience at the center, offering tools to discover, learn, get excited. The digitization of the collections, the construction of navigational paths between the contents, the possibility of interacting with the collections during the on-site visit, make the Museum an open, welcoming space, ever closer to the needs of a diverse public. A place where culture, nature and community meet and strengthen each other.

Accessibility, inclusion, innovation

MuseumInteract - Val Sanagra is designed to accommodate a wide and varied audience of visitors, combining scientific content with engaging and accessible tools. The goal is to provide a unique experience for those who visit the Museum, both physically and virtually.

One of the central aspects of the project MuseumInteract - Val Sanagra is the focus on accessibility, broadly understood: digital, cognitive and physical.

As for the gamification, a valuable collaboration was initiated with theComet Association, who took part in meetings during the design phase and the testing phase of the app PlayMuseum - Adventure in the Sanagra Valley. Engaging with educators and youth with cognitive or autism spectrum disabilities has enabled them to refine languages, game mechanics, and interfaces to make them more inclusive and usable by all.

The new Museum, Ecomuseum and Sanagra Valley Park website has instead been developed following the latest international guidelines on digital accessibility, with special attention to the needs of people with visual spectrum difficulties.

Also thephysical accessibility of the museum spaces has been given attention. The museum is accessible to people with reduced mobility thanks to the presence of an elevator, which allows visits in a wheelchair or with other support tools. Exceptions are only two rooms-the Dioramas Room and the Ethnographic Room-which for structural reasons are still not fully accessible. To overcome this limitation, two dedicated digital tools have been created: an immersive video that allows virtual exploration of the Ethnographic room and an illustrative video of the Dioramas room, with close-up shots of the exhibits and explanations accessible to all.
