Proposals for Schools

An educational experience among nature, history and play

The Sanagra Valley Museum, Park and Ecomuseum offers schools of all levels an engaging educational experience that combines learning with exploration.

A day in the Sanagra Valley

The proposed paths integrate with school curricula and allow for in-depth study of various topics related to history, natural sciences and environmental education.

Proposal for schools - Val Sanagra Museum
  • Natural sciences: study of fossils, plants, animals and fungi in the area, with insights into the evolution of species through fossils and the geological evolution of the valley;
  • Local history: peasant life, ancient crafts, industrial archaeology and land transformations;
  • Civic and environmental education: landscape observation, awareness of natural and cultural heritage, respect for the environment;
  • Research Methodology: analysis of historical and oral sources, reconstruction of local memory, critical reading of the area.

The proposed visit

The proposed educational pathway for schools is designed to provide students with an active, engaging and curriculum-consistent learning experience.

To be replaced in: proposals for Schools

For large classes, subject to the availability of more volunteers from the History, Nature and Life Association, we propose the Division of the class into two groups, which may alternate in two complementary activities:

  • Visit to the Sanagra Valley Museum, with its naturalistic, historical and ethnographic collections;
  • Visit to the Galli Furnace (April to September), an example of local industrial archaeology, now restored and used as an exhibition and educational space.

After about an hour of visiting, the groups switch so that everyone can participate in both experiences.

This mode makes it possible to optimize time, maintain high attention and foster an atmosphere of active participation.

Learning by playing

During your visit to the museum, you can use the app GiocaMuseo - Adventure in the Sanagra Valley.

Students are divided into groups (max five), each led by a character different inspired by local history and traditions.

Through riddles and quests, each group will explore the museum interactively, and at the end, there will be a discussion together about what they have learned.

Rogolone field trip and combined tour

For schools wishing to have an immersive experience in nature, the trip to Rogolone represents a unique opportunity to get closer to biodiversity, landscape history, and the concept of monumental trees.

Outing to Rogolone, Val Sanagra

The Rogolone, a centuries-old oak tree dating back to the 18th century and recognized as a Natural Monument as early as 1928, is now also a symbol of the Sanagra Valley Museum.

Interdisciplinary activities related to environmental education, botany, geography and landscape storytelling can be proposed around this majestic tree.

To make the experience even more complete, the trip can be combined with a visit to the Museum, to learn more about the naturalistic and cultural background of the area or with a stop at the Galli Furnace, to integrate the environmental aspect with the historical and productive aspect.

This formula allows classes to spend a full day of nature, history and discovery, fostering dynamic and participatory learning.

Ogni percorso comprende:

  • laboratorio didattico di 90 minuti;
  • visita del Museo con possibilità di utilizzare l’app interattiva GiocaMuseo - Adventure in the Sanagra Valley;
