To give concrete implementation to this ambitious project, theVoluntary association Storia Natura e Vita, to whom the city administration entrusted the responsibility of planning and implementation of the Museum.
The initiative pursues a twofold objective: on the one hand, the preservation and enhancement of the historical and natural memory of the civilizations that have inhabited the Sanagra Valley over the centuries; on the other hand, the creation of an educational reference center in view of theEstablishment of the Local Park of Supra-Municipal Interest (PLIS) of the Sanagra Valley.
From its origins, the museum was conceived in close synergy with the local area, basing its development on the principle of constant dialogue between the Museum itself and the Park: the former accompanies visitors to discover the latter, which in turn strengthens its educational and cultural function.
Supporting and consolidating this innovative approach was the valuable contribution of the Dott. Luigi Cagnolaro, former director of the Museum of Natural History in Milan, who has been collaborating with the Grandola Museum for years, providing his expertise and experience.
With the Regional Council Resolution of August 2, 2007-No. 8/5251, the Lombardy Region officially recognized the Val Sanagra Ethnographic and Naturalistic Museum.
The museum has been included in the lombardy museum network.
