Wooden airbrush instrument with cylindrical tube, flared pavilion and simple reed. The tube has holes, partly free and partly served by keys.
Equipped with a wide pavilion and long reed where the low E hole is located, controlled by a key with a long lever. Although an open pipe, the clarinet behaves acoustically as a closed pipe, in which the fundamental sound has a wavelength equal to four times the length of the air column.
