Description

The log peeler was a tool used for roughing wood, that is, to remove the first layers of bark or to level the surface of the log. It is gripped with both hands and, through a straight motion, the blade was pushed against the wood to remove the various layers of material. This tool was essential in the carpenter's workshop, where it was used to prepare the raw wood before moving on to subsequent stages of processing.
