Description

The tool was used as a support for shoe construction. The shoemaker would place the dummy on the work surface and build shoes or boots on it, shaping the material to the shape of the customer's foot. This tool was essential in shoemaking work, as it made it possible to create custom-made footwear. In the shoemaker's workshop, the dummy was one of the main tools for making and repairing footwear
