The turnbuckle bit was used in carpentry work in the carpenter's workshop to drill holes in wood. The bit was inserted into the seat of the head of the turnbuckle and fastened securely with a screw. The tool was then held with one hand on the knob and the other on the center knob. By turning the tool, the tip would begin to pierce the wood, creating precise holes. This process, which required manual skill and precision, was essential for assembling pieces of wood and other work in carpentry.
