The trombone is a wind musical instrument belonging to the brass family. It consists of a long, cylindrical, curved tube that expands into a pavilion at the end. The trombone has a characteristic slide (slide), which allows the musician to vary the length of the tube, thus changing the pitch of the instrument. It is played by blowing through a mouthpiece and, in the case of the piston trombone, also through the use of valves. Frequently used in marching bands, especially in Grandola band performances, the trombone is employed as an accompanying instrument in musical performances, particularly in traditional music performances. Its main material of construction is brass, and it is an instrument that maintains an oral tradition in its use.
