Next to the historic Galli Furnace arises the Home of the Fornaciai, a building that has been restored with careful conservation work to preserve its original appearance and architectural identity.
The interior has faithfully reconstructed the typical dwelling of the furnace workers--the workers who worked in the furnace and lived in the immediate vicinity--using authentic furnishings, utensils, and objects partly from the Sanagra Valley Ethnographic and Natural History Museum.
On the ground floor is the living area, the heart of family life, where the large Lombard fireplace with the two side benches, a symbol of conviviality and domestic warmth.
A space dedicated to the work tools: from belts to small machinery, such as a wooden lathe, to the objects of daily use that tell of the simplicity and ingenuity of life in the past.
The upper floor houses two bedrooms, furnished with a terracotta stove, washbasins with mirrors, a kneeler chair and a sideboard: elements that restore the intimate and authentic atmosphere of working-class homes in the late 19th century.
