"A traditional museum exhibits a collection, an ecomuseum a heritage; a museum is located in a property, an ecomuseum in the territory; a museum caters to an audience, an ecomuseum to a population."
Hugues de Varine
The territory of the Sanagra Valley has unique characteristics that have led to the desire to establish an Ecomuseum, primarily the presence of artifacts of industrial archaeology that testify to the past processing of a range of raw materials, otherwise not found in a single territory.
Clay, lime, and charcoal fossils are some of the uniquenesses that distinguish this area; the presence of the recently restored Galli Furnace is the icon of. this Ecomuseum that is being developed in full partnership with the existing Museum and the Sanagra Valley PLIS.
