The sieve was wielded at home during the chestnut harvesting period to sort the fruit. After the chestnuts were beaten to separate them from the husk, the sieve was used to separate the waste, such as fragments of husk or other debris, from the edible part. Thanks to its fine mesh, the sieve made it possible to obtain clean chestnuts ready to be eaten or processed into flour, ensuring accurate processing without impurities.
Sieve consisting of wicker branches arranged in a circular pattern, oval in shape, wider at the edge than at the bottom, and with two side handles.
