Located in Cardano, the Little Chapel of the Cross owes its name to the place where it stands: a plot of land designated for the burial of the many victims of the plague of the 15th century, which hit the entire area hard. The toponym "Crocetta" or "Cross" derives precisely from the presence of the crosses that marked the graves.
Its construction was probably desired by survivors of the plague, as suggested by depictions of St. Sebastian and St. Roch, saints traditionally invoked against the plague.
A few years ago, the small chapel was moved a few meters to allow the road to be widened. Inside, in addition to frescoes of the two saints, there is a valuable Madonna and Child, the centerpiece of local devotion.
