From Cardano, near the quaint washhouse, a path starts that climbs along Via Vittorio Veneto. After about 300 meters, you take a track to the right that heads toward the Sanagra River. The trail descends slightly, crossing some rudimentary steps near a rocky outcropping. Just beyond, the trail offers a view of the Sanagra riverbed and a characteristic waterhole, known locally as "the Cion."
A few steps carved into the rock lead to the ruins of the oldest mill in the Sanagra Valley, the Boggio Mill, also known as "the Cion," in reference to the nicknames of the former owners: Cion and Ciona.
Mill activity ceased before 1915, and the building was later converted into a blacksmith store owned by the Guerra family. Today, despite its dilapidated state, it is still possible to observe some characteristic details, such as portions of the ancient irrigation ditch that channeled water from the stream, a granite crusher plate for grinding nuts and olives, a millstone, and a small fresco depicting the Madonna.
