Visit to Valley Activities

The trail is the main trail of the lower Sanagra Valley, and allows you to encounter the many paleo-industrial production centers that characterized the area in past centuries.
Seven are the mills encountered next to the Sanagra stream bed, some almost intact, others modified or completely disappeared.
Starting from Cardano you go down to the Boggio Mill, said the Cion, the oldest of the mills in the Sanagra Valley.

Continuing in the direction of Chioderia, not far away is the valley mill, now completely redeveloped by the owners.
Overlooking the mill, on the other bank of the Sanagra, is the Grass Spinning Mill, one of several factories in the Como area.
Continuing in the same direction (Chioderia), a few hundred meters further on you will encounter the Galli Furnace, once an important center for brick production; recently undergoing renovations, it has become a museum and a center for educational activities.

About fifty meters from the Furnace is one of the best preserved mills: La Chioderia. Redeveloped several times, among the many activities it housed was a nail factory, hence the name; today it also has a facility with numerous tanks suitable for trout farming.
Following the road alongside the Chioderia, after a hundred meters you will encounter the remains of two mills: that of the Wells, almost completely ruined, and that of the War (before the Cattaneos), now completely transformed.

Keeping the same direction, about a kilometer away is the locality "Mulini," characterized by a splendid bridge over the stream. Here the remains of two large mills surrounded by houses are well preserved: the Carliseppi Spinelli.
