La Artüs Chapel is located on the border between Grandola ed Uniti and Menaggio, along the dirt road that leads from Piamuro to the Valley Mill, to the ancient Via Regina and the village of Codogna.
The name "Artus" has no connection with the legendary figure of King Arthur, but derives from Artusio, an ancient toponym of the area.
The chapel represents one of the most significant testimonies to local popular religiosity, not least because of the accompanying legend. The original interior, which held a valuable painting dedicated to Mary Most Holy, has been lost. The current decoration, the result of restoration work, includes a valuable wooden high relief inspired by the legend of Artüs, which has always enveloped the place with an aura of mystery and devotion.
