Jay

La Jay is a medium to large bird belonging to the Corvidae family. It has a distinctive plumage with a combination of bright colors. The upper part of the body is grayish-brown with reddish hues, while the lower part is white. The head is particularly distinctive, with a crest of feathers that can be raised, and a black face mask that extends from the base of the beak to the nape of the neck.

A distinctive feature of the jay is its wings, which have a vivid blue coloration and a visible black stripe, which is especially visible when the bird is in flight. The legs are pinkish-orange in color and the beak is stout, gray-black in color.

This bird is known for its intelligent and curious behavior. It is commonly found in mixed and deciduous forests, where it feeds mainly on acorns, fruit, seeds and small insects. The acorn is also an excellent scavenger, able to adapt to various habitats. During autumn, jays collect and hide acorns for the winter period, a behavior known as "food hiding."

In flight, the jay has an agile and somewhat undulating flight, alternating wing beats and glides. It is a social bird, but can also be quite territorial during the breeding season. Its voice is a loud and varied call, including cackles and metallic sounds.
