Fossil of the medullary region of the bark of a horsetail of the genus Calamites. The specimen is found charred in a siltstone of fine matrix (Manno conglomerate formation). The trunk consists of an anthracitic carbonaceous deposit a few millimeters thick; the characteristic internode connecting the different stems of equisetals is not evident. Other fossils are reported to be present, particularly fern fins that are not very evident.
