Fossil of the medullary region of the bark of a horsetail of the genus Calamites. The specimen is found charred in a siltstone formed by clay classes of fine matrix (Manno conglomerate formation). The trunk consists of an anthracitic carbonaceous deposit involving the entire thickness of the specimen. The preservation of the specimen is good even though it is only the counter impression; it was not possible to ascribe its species with certainty.
