Preserved specimen

Fossil of the medullary region of the bark of a horsetail of the genus Calamites. The specimen is found charred on a sandstone formed by sandy clasts of medium-fine matrix (Manno conglomerate formation). The log consists of an anthracitic carbonaceous deposit that covers a reduced thickness of the specimen. The preservation of the specimen is poor, so its species could not be attributed with certainty.
