Preserved specimen
Fossil of the medullary region of the bark of a horsetail of the genus Calamites. The specimen is found charred in a conglomerate formed by millimeter classes of medium to coarse matrix (Manno conglomerate formation). The trunk consists of an anthracitic carbonaceous deposit a few millimeters thick. The mediocre preservation of the specimen did not allow to attribute its species with certainty.
